Don't be a lazy ("as is") seller!
Don’t be a lazy seller! The days are gone of selling homes “as is” here in the Yorktown/Williamsburg area.
Here are three tips on how to prep your home to sell at top dollar and as quickly as possible.
1. Declutter
Get a dumpster and throw away extra stuff in your house. If you have things you will need in your new home, consider getting a storage unit. Your home should be free of personal photos and have clear countertops, tables, and dressers. Closets should be tidy and simplified.
2. If you have painted your home in the last 3-4 years, touch it up.
If it’s been longer than that, your whole home should have a fresh coat using a neutral paint color. Call Power House Painting and Home Improvement for a quote.
3. Clean your house. Yes, this needs to be said. Besides the obvious floors, bathrooms, and kitchen, it’s important to do a deep clean of exchange vents, blinds, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and exterior windows. If you don’t want to do it yourself, hire Colonial Cleaning Company to come to clean it.
3. Curb appeal matters!
Fix up the exterior of your home with some fresh mulch, switch out any broken bricks, and trim trees and bushes. And if your home doesn’t have any curb appeal, get some! Call Miller's Landscaping or Veterans Exterior Cleaning and they can help you out if you don’t want to do it yourself!
