To err is human... to have a proactive Realtor, divine!

Sometimes.... don’t you just hate Excel? I send out postcards to multiple neighborhoods in York County that give real estate stats and trends for their area.

Well, in one postcard that went out last week, a simple Excel sort-and-expand function went awry—as a result, the Recently Sold chart listed incorrect data. When I learned of the error, I put my communication team straight to work on a corrected chart to be mailed right away, to ensure Peninsula residents have the correct information.

Everyone makes mistakes—but not all professionals admit it and take immediate steps to correct it. When you choose me as your Realtor, you can be confident I'm going above and beyond, including prompt problem-solving. That's actually advice I share to other professionals, no matter if you work in real estate or some other field—be honest and be human. While I didn't personally import the numbers in the chart, I missed the discrepancies when proofreading. And guess what? Just as I tell my kids, when you make a mistake like that, it's one you're unlikely to repeat, because you learn from it. I'm refining my proofreading process to keep me from missing something like this again.

And isn't that the kind of person you want working for you? The kind who owns their mistakes and takes immediate action to correct them—and prevent them happening again? Beware any Realtor who tells you they don't make mistakes... not only is this certainly a falsehood, but it means they're leaving their errors in place (at risk to you) rather than calling attention to their goof by fixing it.
